Weekly Wrap Up (2026.09.19)

Super slow this week, I guess it’s that time of year or something. Or probably just, they can’t all be bangers. Or something…

So let’s talk a bit about the garden. For basically the first time since moving here, almost ten years ago now, I am actually getting stuff from the garden. Granted, I didn’t do the garden at first so it’s been more like, 6 years. I have moved it around several places and added some protection and I have managed to deter the animals enough that I get the food and not them.

Though they still get some because boy garden tomatoes start to go bad quickly.

Slightly irritating, apparently I ended up with nothing but small cherry style tomatoes, of several types. Next year, less “get something with a fancy name” and more “buy a plant that just says tomato.” I have gotten more cherry tomatoes than we can eat though, and a fair number of cayenne peppers I will dry out and grind up into powder. Plus a bunch of basil, some I have ground up, some I chopped up and froze in some olive oil.

I didn’t get as many green peppers as I had hoped. Probably for the best since I have not been using them as much lately. In general actually it’s kind of odd because like, half my plants gave a ton of harvest, and half basically gave nothing. The one tomato plant has become an absolute monster in size and volume of fruit. It’s tied up in several spots to the top of the covering pergola thing.

Video Games

I know I mentioned it before, but I am really not feeling Droid Tycoon as much these days. My “subscribe for one month” crew ends tomorrow, and I already have all of the pass stuff for now. I am considering just uninstalling Fortnite to sort of, break the cycle.

But it’s still there. I actually also have been working at finishing the Droid Dex… Again… I pushed to Rebirth 35, the highest as of this writing. Being that high does make gathering materials for fusions much easier, because I can just grab literally anything off the belt without blinking. When you have over 1,000 Trillion, money is nothing.

But it also made doing anything else kind of pointless. My entire game became logging in and wishing Ric Droids would drop more than once a year. Even doing fusions hoping for Rics was not working. Got to the point of needing 2 Stellar Rics, and another Stellar KX before I could finish the new Fusion Droids completely.

And then they added Protocol Droids. And in another week a new tier, above Stellar, which are already a pain to get. Plus I am still short some regulars, a Beskar Snow Mouse, a Stellar TriTek.

It’s all getting to be too much chasing, and too much “almost”.

I finally just Super Rebirthed again. I wanted the Nova Crystals for some more upgrades, and they added more crystal drops as you regular Rebirth, which I didn’t get because I was at the max level. I have SRBed 12 times now. And getting back up to at least like, RB 20, is pretty easy. But I am not sure I care anymore. It really feels like they tweaked drop rates into oblivion. Oh but “It’s all just RNG.” Eh… Sort of, but you can’t tell me Rics and Snow Mouses don’t drop way less than basically every other Mythic. You barely see either on the belt, but KX and IG and Ric-2000 are there all the time.

Toys

This ended up being a semi busy week for Transformers. First off, apparently Wal-mart has a discount eBay store thing. I actually thought it was Has to Pulse’s eBay store, but then it arrived from Wal-Mart.

Specifically, Breakaway. Like the recent NFL Transformers, Breakaway is a crossover with the FIFA World Cup and turns into a soccer ball. I think it was essentially a Wal-Mart exclusive but it doesn’t seem like it really every showed up at any of them before the World Cup and almost instantly went on Clearance. I never saw it locally but got it from the Wal-Mart clearance eBay store. I like it more than I expected. The robot is real nice and the transformation is kind of clever for being a ball.

I also picked up Dark of the Moon Wheeljack at Ross. It’s kind of an iffy design and it’s not a super great toy, but I like the movie stuff and Wheeljack (maybe not so much this take). The gray desperately need a paint wash or something.

For non Transformers, I came across this Funky Kong at Wal-Mart. Boy are these Jakks lines impossible to follow. It feels like they get like, no news coverage and all just sort of show up. I don’t really follow the line though maybe it’s on me. I just though he was goofy and cheap and poseable and just seemed fun.

TV and Movies

Supergirl showed up on HBO, and boy, I just, I liked it quite a bit honestly. I admit, I am, in general less familiar with DC comics and have no idea what comic or whatever this is based on, but I liked it. Not perfect, Lobo was fun but felt randomly placed, the villain was annoyingly just, not dying, constantly. It was fun though. Fairly low stakes as well, which was a nice change of pace for hero movies.

The soundtrack was awesome as well. I loved about every song they put in this film.

And SWAT. Oh man, they dumped Street AND Luca. Like, what are you all doing? New Street sucks too, I kind of hate him. Luca was my favorite character of the bunch. They didn’t really build up to a good send off either, they just sort of, are not in this season (7) and then get like one episode and gone. I mean, fine, they resolved all of Street’s issues like 3 seasons ago and have no idea what to do with him but he was a good character. Now we just have Hondo, main character syndrome, but at least he is fine. Deacon, who is just kind of, boring family man conservative cop dude, and Tan, who had basically had one storyline all series, and it was boring.

Like, Tan is ok, but he has essentially zero character development. The New Cris has more character development and she has only been around for like 6 episodes (probably more). Also, the stories feel a little less… progressive in their underlying message lately. It’s almost like the world t large shifted and the show got stifled.

No more links, those are in the new Sunday News posts now.
