I feel like Godzilla and Eggs is kind of a weird crossover, but Godzilla is also one of those characters that gets a lot of random merch because its a pretty popular franchise. Especially among merch buying types. I have found these at Ross, but I remember seeing them before online and thinking they seemed neat in a weird way. There are four toys in the line, Godzilla, Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah, and Mothra. I only have Godzilla and Mothra, but if I find the other two, I would pick them up. They are not super expensive at “non Ross” pricing, so I may get them anyway. (Side Note, I believe there is a burning Godzilla repaint of the Godzilla one.)

The gimmick for the line is that these turn into egg shaped objects. Each has a unique transformation, it would have been easy for Mechagodzilla to simply be a remold of Godzilla for sure. Godzilla probably has the weakest egg silhouette, but the trade off is a pretty solid monster silhouette. I mean, its not perfect, but Godzilla is a bit off looking at times too, at least the older versions. Aside from a slightly undersized head, he looks like a pretty regular Godzilla.

The articulation is pretty limited though. The arms and hips swivel only. There are rotating legs and ankle joints though, as a side effect of the transformation. Another notable bit is that the tail kind of works either longer or shorter. As part of the transformation the tail folds in half.
Probably the biggest downside for Godzilla is the huge hollow hole in the back. There is a panel that folds out behind the head that fills it in a little, but nowhere near completely.

Godzilla transforms by folding the head back into the back, then folding the tail up over it, filling the gap. The legs then fold up, and the feet rotate to lay flat against the sides. Then the arms fold down to the sides. The egg shape is much more effective in person than it looks in photos. The dark color makes the arms and legs blend in a bit more so it looks less like “folded up Godzilla.”
Mothra on the other hand, is probably the strongest of all 4 egg toys, in every way. It has one of the strongest egg modes, and one of the better monster modes. It also has a unique play pattern that fits with Mothra.

See, Mothra has been depicted as an egg, then a hatched larva, then the giant moth. All three of these forms are incorporated here. The egg is part of the line gimmick. The wings fold down over the body to form essentially a nice looking egg, granted, with a giant moth body seam. Because Mothra is a bit smaller than other Kaiju, there is also a larval form Mothra, that attaches to the moth form, finishing the egg shape. It can be detached and used on its own.
The moth form looks nice as well, and as part of the transformation, the wings can “flap” a bit as well. The main indicator that this is an egg toy are the wings, which are smooth and white on one side.

If you only got one of these, I would suggest getting Mothra. It would also would well enough with other Godzilla toys really.
I have found both these toys to be neater than expected. I want to pick up Mechagodzilla and Ghidorah at some point. Partly because both have very amusing egg shaped bodies, but they also look to be fun little toys as well.
