Weekly Wrap Up (2025.08.09)

I start writing this a bit early as I do, half asleep after working a partial night shift at work. Weee…. Lets talk Blaugust progress. I have somehow made it through a week. I am not sure I will make it a month, half this week were kind of filler posts because I split one big write up up into three posts. Is that cheating? Maybe? There are not really any rules. I actually have a big giant folder of memes and screen caps and random images to "inspire writing" and every time I open that folder, I just kind…
Mission Accomplished-ish

Mission Accomplished-ish

For various search purposes, this is my experience trying to replace the Window Regulator and motor on a 2015 Chevy Sonic. Maybe, a month or two ago, my passenger side car window started having issues rolling up and down. It usually would be that the driver's side controls would not work, so. I would lean over and hit the passenger side controls. It gotten worse a couple of weeks ago. It rolled down for the drive to work, it would not roll up again using any buttons. I went about searching online for a solution, and found that the most…

Welcome to Blaugust 2025 – Introduction

Welcome to Blaugust, and the day one post here for the event. If you know me, then this whole post will just feel like a redundant sort of trip down memory lane. But that's what I do I guess. Nostalgia is such a vicious creature, another way to say that you fear the future.-- Work of Fiction by Lauren Mayberry I just love that quote from that song. Anyway, I don't have a plan, I rarely do anymore,…
Linux Move Complete!

Linux Move Complete!

I mentioned a few hanging issues on my move to Linux (again) and I'm happy to say that all of them have been fairly easily resolved and completed. Now I can move on to doing more again. Shared Drives As suspected, the core issue with getting the mounts to work was with the device IDs in the fstab file. I managed to sort that out and map the drives to automatically mount, which meant I could move on the adding them to sharing things with Samba again. I did end up having to rebuild the Docker drive interim, though it…

What I’ve Been Up To (2025.06.28)

Just for a change of pace, I'm not going to bitch about not being able to blow money on random things this week, instead I'm going to talk about blowing money on random stuff this week. Because I could, and I did. But first… Music I decided to spice things up a bit in my music listening by pulling out a bunch of random singles tracks from my huge library of music and throwing them on my phone. I'm not even reall done doing this yet really, because I have, a LOT of music. But I also pulled a few…
