Why are they always more attractive before the make over in these movies? Why is the make over always "take off the glasses and comb your hair?

A beautifully animated film with a wonderful story.

Starts as a comedy and turns into a romance flick, then quietly ends as a toned down "movie with a message." Its kind of all over the place honestly.

Watched on Sunday October 2, 2022.

Its certainly a film of its time.
