Fifty Shades of Black, 2016 – ½

Why did I do this to myself... I could have been watching Let's Make a Deal or like, literally fucking anything else.

Boy Erased, 2018 – ★★★

One of those "Based on a true story" style movies, that works to expose the crazy of Gay Conversion camps. Its an interesting look into the shitty psudonscence idea behind this sort of bull shit. Basically some con man pretending to be an actual psychiatrist pushing stereotypes to try to get a bunch of boys and men to not be gay. There is also one girl in the story, which feels like potential for some interesting subplot angles that sort of feels like it goes nowhere and wasn't really explored. I guess that's part of the "based on a true story" part. Since its not really trying to dramazie anything. Honestly though, I am not sure it will change anyone's mind. Anyone already convinced that Gay Concersion is stupid, will just sort of, agree with the film's message. Those who think Gay Conversion is fine, are also just as likely to agree with the methods used, and take that as the movie's message.

Obama: In Pursuit of a More Perfect Union, 2021 – ★★★½

Remeber when the future felt optimistic and hopeful and like the world wasn't full of complete idiots and assholes?

The Courier, 2019 – ★★½

It's at least pretty stylish with some ok action moments, but it also feels like it could be better. It also feels odd that Gary Oldman is in this because he pretty much just hangs around his high rise home doing nothing.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, 2022 – ★★★½ (contains spoilers)

This review may contain spoilers. Its good, but its kind of long. Driving a giant boat out into the middle of the ocean to battle fish people seems like a super bad idea next to sitting in the mountains from the coast and waiting for them to come. Also lots of weird mentions about how leathal their weapons are while basically never killing anyone. Maybe the rest of the Wakandans need to borrow some of the Gibari Tribe's books to look up what "leathal" means. But at least they brought back the Kitten Mittens.
