Con Artist? By Ramen Junkie Jacob along with his new partner Jigglypuff continued on their journey to Celadon City. They were nearing Mt. Moon, which would be the hardest part of their journey. Hunter was more occupied with ways to make more money at the moment thought to worry about the mountain trip. "I think there are 2 Cities on the way to Celadon, Cerulean and Saffron," Jacob explained to Jigglypuff, who wasn't really listening anyway. "Saffron is pretty big, we may be able to get a lot there. We will have to work fast though, people may start to catch on to the scheme." Jacob continued to talk about upcoming plans and Jigglypuff continued to stare off into the woods, until they became aware of voices approaching them. Hunter saw a group of people up the road and immediately grabbed Jigglypuff and pulled it into the brush on the side of the road. "Here's our chance for a score. Go out there and sing your song to them alright buddy?" Jigglypuff let out and exited "Puff!" and happily wandered down the path towards the 3 other travelers. "Look Rob, we haven't seen any Pokémon out here for miles, much less this rare Moltres you claim to have seen here. I think you're a liar," said one of the male travelers. "I'm telling you it was here, Deak," retorted the one named Rob. "Yeah right, you're just trying to be a hot shot because you know I'm a better trainer than you," replied Deak smugly. "You probably just saw a some Pidgey and thought it was a Moltres, every good trainer knows there is not really a Pokémon like that anyway." "You know, whether it's out here or not we will never find it if you two keep arguing so loud," interrupted the female of the group. "You're right Jannie, we'll never catch even normal Pokémon if we don't be quiet," said Deak. "Shhh… look!" whispered Rob, pointing at the approaching Jigglypuff. "Aww, isn't it cute?" said Jannie. "And it's coming right up to us. Maybe it will sing to us. Jigglypuffs are known for their songs." "Yeah, known for putting people to sleep with their songs, we don't want it singing to us, trust me, besides, I could use a new Pokémon to make this trip worthwhile, I'm gonna catch it." said Deak. "Not if I get it first!" cried Rob, who was already heading down the path towards the Jigglypuff readying a Pokeball and a Pokémon to battle. At the site of the charging human Jigglypuff became scarred and hunched back in fear, it's eyes widening and watering up. Jacob watched it all from a safe distance, "What are you doing? Put them to sleep already." At the site of the scared Pokémon Rob stopped his assault. "I think it's … crying," he said to the others. "You meanie, you scared it. You should be nicer, it would have come to us anyway," yelled Jannie down the path. They both jumped at the sound of a Pokémon being released from a Pokeball, and soon there was a NidoranF standing next to Rob. It was Deak's Pokémon. "Who care's what it's doing, it's mine now! Nidoran scratch attack!" ordered Deak. The NidoranF charged Jigglypuff with its claws barred. "Man, now what's going on? I guess I'll have to help it out," grumbled Jacob, springing from the bush and darting down the path towards the battle. Before he got there though Jigglypuff had already sprang into action. It dodged the scratch attack and did the only thing it could do, it started singing. By the time Jacob arrived the 3 humans appeared to be asleep. The NidoranF stumbled to his feet and fell down, asleep as well. "It's about time you got to work. Why didn't you fight back?" demanded Jacob stomping over to Jigglypuff and looking it right in the eyes. Jigglypuff filled itself with air and did it's best to look menacing then gave out a loud "Puff!" It then went into a long series of "Jigs and "puffs" that further confused Jacob. "Urg... this would be easier if you could just talk you know," he said after Jigglypuff finished. "Jigglypuff..." retorted Jigglypuff, it then turned it's back to Hunter. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean it, I just…" he had no idea what to say, he didn't want to loose the Pokémon, he had no real control over it. "I didn't know what to expect, I won't doubt your ability again, deal?" He extended his hand to shake. After a moment Jigglypuff turned back and stared at him. Jacob tried to figure out what it could possibly be thinking. Finally the Pokémon reached out and shook Jacob's hand. Hunter figured it was a good sign for now, he would have to work on trying to understand the creature better later, now he had work to do. He knelt next to Rob, who was closest to them. "Hmm, he's not very rich. I guess that's what I get for trying to rob children. I guess I ought to just lea…" before he could finish Jacob found himself sprawled on the ground after a blow to the head. He looked up to see Deak standing over him. "What do you think you're doing? You think you can just rip us off that easily?" he demanded, before pulling out a Pokeball and releasing its Pokémon. "Mankey, Go get him!" "Mankey? What's a Mankey?" stuttered Jacob, trying to ret a grip on hat was happening. Then standing between him and Deak was a white hairy creature. The Mankey was jumping up and down and ready for a fight. "Oh crap…" muttered Jacob. "I think you have it all wrong really, can't we talk about this?" asked Jacob. "All wrong? Then explain why you have Rob's wallet!" replied Deak. "Oh this?" asked Jacob innocently holding up the wallet, "Well uh... I was just... Hey look a rare bird Pokémon!" Jacob pointed behind Deak, who immediately looked at the hopes of finding the Moltres that Rob had been lying about. "There's no bird Poke..." Deak looked back to see his prisoner was gone, along with the Jigglypuff. He saw Hunter running away down the path almost dragging Jigglypuff along behind him in one hand. "Hey! Mankey get them!" Hunter gasped for breath from running so hard so suddenly, "Well, I think if we get out of this I need to get some a Pokémon to fight with huh Jiggs?" "Pu-u-u-u-f-f-f-f-f" stuttered Jigglypuff who was starting to feel a bit nauseous from being flung around in Jacob's arms.
