Scourge is one of the few Transformers Strikers. A Striker is a unit that attacks by hitting it’s opponent in a slashing motion. Star Wars is full of strikers with it’s Jedi ranks. Transformers has many more Shooters than Strikers. I’m actually pretty sure Scourge is the only true striker in the entire first wave of Transformers Attacktix. Battle Ravage has that mace thing but it has slightly different physics. There’s a few Flingers and a Prodder, but no other Strikers.
And so I was kind of excited to get Scourge initially. I’ve been running Darth Vader in my line up as my lead killer. Vader is an awesomely powered Striker. I was hoping I could trade Vader out for Scourge allowing me to go “pure Transformers”. Sadley, Scourge’s strength is not good. The length and shape of his weapon makes him pretty poor at taking anyone out. It’s a real shame because Strikers certainly lead the pack as far as best attack.
Unfortunately for Scourge, while he has a detailed and interesting sculpt, he also doesn’t get the benefit of being a character I like, so he’s pretty much delegated to spend eternity in my “extras box”.
