I’m no Superman…

Recently NBC’s Scrubs has entered syndication.  It’s literally all over the place now.  Well, ok, maybe just in my area.  Anyway at least 3 stations on my cable system show this program twice a day, the one I work for being one of them.

I’m not complaining.  It’s one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long while, and certainly one of the few sitcoms out these days that I actually find funny in any way.  I’d be willing ot rank it up with Futurama and Star Trek:TNG on my top all time shows list.  It actually kind of reminds me a bit of Futurama, it’s funny and whacky and kind of random, but there’s a down to earth element about the plot and the whole situation that keeps it from ebing “over the top”.  Also, like Futurama (especially later eps), the plots have thier serious moments that genuinely work.

In case you’re wondering why I keep mentioning Futurama, I’ll just mention that it is my “favorite show” and I feel it should rank pretty high on the best shows ever list.  Too bad being animated it will never get the respect it deservs.  Of course there’s always the Simpsons but that show has been on the decline for like 10 years now.

Anyway, Scrubs follows the exploits of several hospital employees from various areas of expertise.  Well actually half the regular cast is either in Medicine with a surgeon and a nurse thrown in for good measure.  However unlike say, ER or House, there’s lots of whacky hijinks in this hospital, most of which stem from the personal interactions of the characters in and outside of work.  This show places a lot less emphasis on the patients and thier problems than many other hospital based shows.  These characters could very well be working in… a gas station or a toy store.

Anyway, you’re best bet is to check your Tv listings etc and watch.  If nobody local shows it Comedy Central does, assuming you have some sort of cable provider.

Yeah, it’s all over here too. It’s at least on Comedy Central and WGN, and it seems to me like it’s on another channel too but that might just be because it’s already on constantly with just those two channels and NBC.
