The second of the new McDonald’s Mario toys that I’ve acquired is actually the third in the series. Things are looking kind of grim on my chances of completing the set. While the mallet was Tennis themed, this third toy features Yoshi and is decidedly Baseball themed.
Yoshi unfortunately is not nearly as much fun as the Mallet is. The toy consists of an awkwardly shaped Yoshi base and a plastic undersized baseball. Yoshi is positioned in a slightly lewd manner with his mouth pointed upward and open, ready to chick down any balls you might feel inclined to stick in his mouth. Sticking out from one end of the base is a red lever. When the lever is depressed, it causes Yoshi’s tongue to extend and launch the ball out of his mouth.
This gimmick is almost cool except that even I can’t seem to make the ball fly much higher then 3 feet. A kid trying to stomp this thing with their feet will destroy it in no time. And they still won’t get it to fly to any useful height.
When coupled with the hammer however, you can get some ok batting practice in.

I play with it on my desk. I also found I out I can use this toy as a toilet as seen on the “Flintstones”. Yoshi: And you thought your job was crappy! Eh It’s a livin. I so need to take a picture proving my point.
